A live workshop with Kimberly Ann Johnson
Birthing a baby takes 1 to 3 days. Birthing a mother takes months to years. All around the world cultures recognize the importance of the postpartum period for women's health over a lifetime. In Ayurveda they say "42 days for 42 years," when well cared for, a woman can experience radiant and strengthened health over a lifetime, rather than feeling isolated, depressed and weakened. Postpartum care is a cultural interject and medicine for Life. We will learn how to support women in "putting themselves back together" physically, emotionally and energetically.
You will learn:
- the definition of the postpartum period- what is it and how long does it last?
- the unique physiological needs of every new mom during the postpartum period.
- foundations of a sound postpartum yoga practice
- principles of Ayurveda and Chinese medicine related to postpartum health and how we can include them in our teaching and practice.
